Orson Welles, boy genius of the 30s-40s. His life story is worth a dramatic movie in itself, and Citizen Kane pretty much beats the hell out of every other movie of the early 40s to the late 60s.
I don't remember what pencils I used on this.

this is awesome. i love how perfectly you captured his intimidating, almost somewhat aggressive glare. I'm really impressed by the immense contrast as well--between the pale white of his face to the jet black of his hair--all done flawlessly. great job.

Thank you, that's some mighty fine observation on your end.

He is the Father Of Cinema for all I care. A lot people will disagree and give that title to others that were around before him, but boy genius or not, he knew what he was doing.
:iconbrmc-girl:
I know, like even he said he drew a lot of inspiration from John Ford and stuff, but really, Ford was nothing by comparison. It's such a shame he wasn't allowed the freedom he had with Kane with anything else.

This is based on my favorite photo of him, which is in fact my desktop background at the moment. Lovely job capturing it! He looks somehow younger yet less boyish than in the original, if that's possible.
